Edited by: Harry Voyager on 11/10/2005 17:51:35 Accelerated growth can take more forms than just free skillpoints, you know. Just releasing Advanced learning skills, and having higher implant drop rates would greatly advance the rate at which ...

782. EVE exclusive Interview on China Market - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I think the best idea really would be for the Chinese server to be a completely different galaxy, with different races and different story lines. Accelerated growth can be accomplished easily, without resorting to giving characters a higher sp ac...

TIE was fun. Remember how everyone always brought along an Energy Beam, just so they could turn it off to get more speed?

784. Ore thiefs finally going to get the GANK - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Trick 3 is to set up one account in your happy FLAC Tempest, and your other account in your grumpy barge, and have the Tempest be the owner of the can. Warp it out to a safe spot, and line it up for warping back in a hurry, and you've got the per...

Originally by: Kerby Lane Originally by: Tomias Itaraou I believe the logistics Dominix is about as good as most logistics ships are - and can also pack a decent punch. How about speed and range ? 8) Speed is only a factor ...

Tempest myself, because it is such a versatile, unpredictable ship. Once you'e got your skills high enough, it doesn't matter what gets nerfed, there will be a way to keep on going. The Armageddon is my second choice. A solid performer for the pi...

789. Still no advanced combat in EVE? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
The problem here is Magus is trying to impose flight sim rules on a game in which you are the Captain of a starship. He's trying to turn this into a twitch game, somethign we really don't need here. There's a time and a place for twitch, but not w...

790. Still no advanced combat in EVE? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
Someone has never tried hitting a frigate in a 20km orbit with 1400mm's before, or, more likely, that someone has never hit a frigate in a 20km orbit with howitzers before. Someone has never tried to pilot a cruiser moving at 4km/s before, or mor...

Edited by: Harry Voyager on 09/10/2005 08:09:11 Well, from the Playerguide calculator, a ship with a 920m sig radius (a Vagabond using MWD with a 60% sig increase), is going to get hit by Dual 650's nearly 20% of the time in a 10km orbit, even...

793. Why isn't ore yield based on sec status? Maybe it should be.. - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
I think what the original poster is trying to accomplish is to increase the number of 0.0 miners who mine low-ends, rather than really trying to drive new people out into 0.0 space. If that is the case, I am in agreement with an earlier poster, t...

794. Passive resistances by skills - per dev blog - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
Actually, switching to purely passive hardeners will save you between 14 and 42 CPU and as much as 6e/s. Most shield tnakers can use this to get another 13 sps sustainable regen. While that may not sound like much, an additioanl 20 dps soak can be...

796. The Black Widow returns from the future with a message!!! - in Ships and Modules [original thread]

Edited by: Harry Voyager on 06/10/2005 05:26:49 Rails have their uses. They are an excellent weapon for fleet snipers, and a Rail Taranis can be a nasty suprise, but railguns on cruisers just don't work all that well. For PvP, cruiser railgu...

799. So what's the point of having 2 extra character slots? - in EVE General Discussion [original thread]
For the PvP oriented, it allows you to have specialized characters: you can cook up a Frigate alt, who is more than capable as a frigate pilot, but doesn't cost 40m every time he or she gets shot down. Harry Voyager

800. Why active hardeners? - in Ships and Modules [original thread]
It all depends. If he's really getting 94% resists across the board, then a single Medium Armour rep II will alow him to soak 400+ dps. That's at a consumption of 13 e/s too. That's easily obtainable on nearly any battleship. Harry Voyager
